Cadillac Fairview donates $25,000 to Grand River Hospital
Youth in our community will continue to benefit from Grand River Hospital’s Propel, thanks to a generous donation of $25,000 from Cadillac Fairview.
Grand River Hospital Foundation hosted the team from CF Fairview Park to say thank you and introduce them to staff who have seen firsthand how this fully donor supported program is making a difference in the lives of young people who are faced with mental health challenges.
“The idea behind the Propel program is to help children and youth build resiliency,” said Grand River Hospital’s Chief of Psychiatry, Dr. John Heintzman, “We can do that by providing opportunities that set them up for success to regain their self-confidence and esteem.”
Propel launched in 2017 and has helped youth cope by connecting them with activities like horseback riding, music lessons or driver’s education.
Participants, like Isabel, are grateful for the support from donors like Cadillac Fairview for making it possible to get connected in the community and learn lifelong skills.
1,000 children and youth visit Grand River Hospital’s mental health program each year.
