Community members of all ages and skill levels can raise money for Grand River Hospital while playing alongside NHL and professional hockey players at the Scotland’s Yard Road Hockey Classic. This year, this classic street hockey tournament supporting children’s cancer care welcomes Ben Chiarot, NHL Detroit Red Wings, Tanner Pearson, NHL Vancouver Canucks, Nate Bastian, NHL New Jersey Devils, Boris Katchouk, NHL Chicago Blackhawks, Laura Fortino, Women’s Team Canada Gold Medalist, Ben Jones, AHL Henderson Silver Knights, and Matthew Sop, OHL Kitchener Rangers.
“Having so many professional players supporting this tournament is a huge win as we continue to work towards our ambitious aim of raising $50 million towards pediatric cancer care at Grand River Hospital,” said Jacqueline Chiarot, Co-chair Scotland’s Yard Road Hockey Classic, and member of the Grand River Hospital Foundation’s board.
Organized by Scotland’s Yard and Grand River Hospital Foundation, the 2023 Scotland’s Yard Road Hockey Classic will take place on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at The Boardwalk (Ira Needles, Waterloo). The tournament supports the Scotland's Yard vision to enhance children’s cancer care in Waterloo Region.
