Patients receiving specialized radiation treatments will be better served if we can raise funds for the purchase and use of this board.
With the advancements in Sterotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT), patient immobilization continues to be critical in the success of treating more complex cases with higher doses.
The Body Pro-Lok ONE and Body Pro-Lok Systems provide an easy-to-use modular system for complex SBRT setups, including unique design features allowing for improved patient positioning and compression.
Each system provides full body immobilization for hypofractionation treatments and allows customized setups to meet the patient's needs, including two options (plate or belt) for reducing respiratory motion.
The SBRT Board provides a precise, stable and easy to use setup that enables clinicians to apply the most effective radiation treatment method for thoracic and abdominal tumours.
We need 2 Boards over the next 2 years and each one is $32,500. All equipment at hospitals in Ontario must be funded locally.
