Grand River Hospital is a place where care never stops, and our staff work tirelessly to support the unique and specialized needs of people throughout the region. They are committed to providing holistic care—care of the whole person—and making every patient's experience exceptional.

Most of us are blissfully unaware of the number of people, systems and tools that it takes to deliver health care. When thinking about patient experience, there is a tendency to think primarily of doctors and nurses. While they are vital to our hospitals, there are also so many diverse services and professionals involved in delivering care.

Think about the spiritual care providers who support patients’ religious, spiritual or emotional needs. Or the pharmacy technicians who prepare your prescription medication when you’re admitted to an inpatient unit and not feeling your best. Think about the staff who conduct blood work, medical imaging and other diagnostic tests to help you determine the kind of treatment and care you need. It takes more than 4,000 team members of all kinds to deliver care at Grand River Hospital, and these, along with allied health professionals, dietitians, laboratory technologist, facilities staff, pharmacists and food services staff, are only a few of them.

No one likes to have to spend time at the hospital, and if we’re lucky, we may never need to experience it first-hand. But whether for ourselves or someone we love, it’s nice to know that when we need it, care is there.
