Grand River Regional Cancer Centre

Dr. Knight talking to patients

Grand River Hospital is Waterloo Wellington’s cancer hospital

Grand River Hospital incorporates a comprehensive cancer program consisting of inpatient oncology and the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre. Services offered here include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, clinical trials, support and resources for patients and families and palliative care.

The cancer centre, which was built on the generosity of this community in 2003, is a full service treatment and research centre. It is also this region’s provider for radiation therapy. Proceeds from A Savoury Evening will help fund equipment and services in the cancer centre that our community depends on.

                                                          Did you know:
  • Grand River Regional Cancer Centre is a leader in supportive services including: pain and symptom management, social work, nutritional counselling, spiritual care, physiotherapy and occupational therapy?
  • there are 100,000 patient visits to the cancer centre each year?
  • the cancer centre actively participates in more 100 clinical trials annually?

Medical Imaging

Oncologists Review Scans

Your support makes a difference in a tangible way

Every day patients come to Grand River Hospital for medical scans and special tests. This includes: MRI, CT, x-ray, ultrasound, mammography, interventional radiology, and nuclear medicine. Physician and care teams across the hospital depend on the information they get these medical imaging machines to diagnose and deliver the most appropriate care for patients.

You can imagine how many pieces of equipment are needed to perform these scans and help our experts make decisions about care and treatment for patients. When equipment breaks down or becomes outdated the hospital relies on your support because these purchases are not funded by the government.

We’re so grateful for your support! Proceeds from A Savoury Evening also help fund needs in the medical imaging program.
