The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has 24 beds and cares for more than 900 babies each year, including many who are born prematurely at as early as 32 weeks.
With the incredible matching support of an anonymous donor, we are hoping to get 24 new wall mounted cardiorespiratory monitors for the NICU, which will be uniquely configured to support our neonatal patients. Cardiorespiratory monitors are used to track babies' hearts, breathing rates and patterns, and they provide health care staff with crucial information that lends to analysis, diagnosis, and exceptional patient care. Each of the monitors will be equipped with the CARESCAPE ONE monitoring system, which will allow patients to be continuously monitored when moving between bed spaces, while attending off unit procedures and during transfer to another facility. This means that no matter what our patients need or where they are in the hospital, they will always be able to receive the best, most comprehensive monitoring and care we can offer.
All donations exceeding our fundraising goal for cardiorespiratory monitors will support the highest priority needs of Grand River Kids.
In March 2021, we granted over $361,325 to the hospital for cardiorespiratory monitors for the NICU.

When donating, any information entered in the billing address fields on the payment screen will be used to generate an automatic tax receipt. If a company name is added here, the tax receipt will be issued to the company.
If your donation is in honour of a friend or loved one, you can email them a digital e-card upon making a donation.
E-cards are available for donations made in memory and in celebration of someone, and each e-card allows you to customize the message being sent. In order to send an e-card, you will need to know the recipient's email address.
When you reach the completed payment screen, you will see the available e-card options, or you can click this link to send an e-card and message directly.
The Foundation will only notify individuals upon request. You can use the cart note function to provide a message and contact details for the recipient.
