Jonathan is passionate and actively involved in the tech space in Waterloo Region and the revitalization of downtown Kitchener. He lives in Victoria Park with his wife Melanie and their young family. "My life has been touched by Grand River Hospital in a number of ways prior to my formal involvement with the Foundation. Both of my daughters were born in the hospital and I was treated there for Crohn's disease throughout my undergraduate studies at Wilfrid Laurier University. The cancer centre has also helped and had a positive impact on a number of members of my extended family. Finally, my wife and I helped plan and organize the Jeans 'n Scrubs fundraising event for a number of years in the past.
At the core of every prosperous community is a world class healthcare system. If Kitchener-Waterloo is going to continue to grow and reach its full potential, Grand River Hospital, along with our world renowned educational institutions, innovative technology sector, and collaborative community, will be a vital part of this success. Furthermore, with both a young family and an ageing extended family, it is very comforting knowing that Grand River Hospital is and will be there for us throughout all of life's ups and downs."
One of Jonathan's Waterloo Region gems...
"Living in Victoria Park, I am a bit biased towards #DTK (Downtown Kitchener). Show and Tell coffee shop and Legacy Greens grocer, both found on Ontario Street, are two destinations that the Dunlop family love and frequent throughout the week, rain or shine."
