Meet Wayne. Wayne is a security officer at GRH who enjoys competing in archery tournaments all across Ontario, including the local Canadian Archers for a Cause tournament supporting the Waterloo-Wellington Breast Centre. Wayne raised $1,400.

Grand River Hospital security officer, Wayne Farrow, found a way to combine his enthusiasm for archery with his passion for healthcare. Having experienced the effects of cancer in his own life, Wayne knows the importance of advancing the services available for patients and their families and supporting for a cure. Wayne fund-raised and participated in The Canadian Archers for a Cause 10th annual tournament at Shooter’s Choice on February 3, 2017.

The first year Wayne participated he raised $1,200 and this year he exceeded that raising more than $1,400 for the Waterloo-Wellington Breast Centre. If you ask Wayne about his fundraising efforts he’ll put the spotlight on GRH staff. “I was just the one to motivate them to make a donation, it’s the awesome staff here at GRH that made it all possible,” Wayne said.

Wayne interacts with a lot of the GRH staff, and he was blown away by their generosity. “It’s amazing how fast the donations add up,” said Wayne. He had eight pages filled with 147 names, all of whom were GRH staff. “I’m lucky to have great friends here at GRH to support me and donate,” said Wayne.
