The First Annual Alain Vienneau Memorial Golf Tournament Supports Kidney Care
On Sunday, May 28, come out to Beaverdale Golf Club in Cambridge, ON to play a round of golf in support of Grand River Hospital at the first annual Alain Vienneau Memorial Golf Tournament. Alain was a charge nurse for Grand River’s renal program, who suddenly and tragically passed away in March 2022. His hospital colleagues, family and friends have organized this tournament to celebrate his passion for nursing and give back to the hospital—the proceeds from the event will support Kidney Care.
More than 3,000 people rely on the renal clinics at Grand River Hospital, which is home to our regional renal program. This includes dialysis units in Kitchener, Guelph and Palmerston that help kidney patients receive care closer to home.
The tournament will begin at 2:30 p.m. with a shotgun start to play nine holes of golf. Attendees can register as an individual or as a group of four, and players will have the opportunity to list other attendees they would like to golf with in advance. Tickets are $135 per person and include a shared golf cart and a barbecue dinner. A charitable tax receipt of approximately $30 will also be available to attendees after the tournament.
For the month of March, the proceeds from our 50/50 lottery supporting the hospital will also go to Kidney Care. Playing the 50/50 lottery is a great way for those who can’t attend the tournament to easily support Kidney Care from the comfort of their home. But even those who plan to attend the tournament can play and make an additional impact on the hospital. And you never know—you could even be one of the lucky early bird or grand prize winners!
To attend the first annual Alain Vienneau Memorial Golf Tournament for an afternoon of golfing and good food for a great cause, register for your tickets online. You can also learn more about Kidney Care and all of the ways supporters like you make a difference by visiting GrandKidney.ca.
