Gift of Lights Supports Grand River Kids
Since 2016, Bingemans Gift of Lights has raised $87,500 for kids at Grand River Hospital!
This festive, family-friendly light display is the largest drive thru holiday light display in Southwestern Ontario, featuring two tunnels and over 300 animated and static light displays. Thousands of people from Waterloo Region and beyond have come to Kitchener-Waterloo to enjoy this holiday spectacle over the last several years.
“Gift of Lights at Bingemans is a holiday tradition for so many people who visit us,” said Mark Bingeman. “Although primarily a drive thru event, the ability to provide a walk thru opportunity for families to go through at their leisure and take pictures has become extremely popular.
“On these special nights, we have been fortunate to be able to partner with and support children’s programs at Grand River Kids, Family and Children’s Services of the Waterloo Region and The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. We are thrilled to be able to give back to our community partners.”
At Grand River Kids, this support has made it possible to enhance patient experience and provide vital equipment and educational opportunities to staff and families. Just a few things that have been supported by Gift of Lights include heart monitors, pre- and post-natal care education, lounge supplies and comfort items for the children’s department, and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) incubators to help premature newborns develop safely.
Thank you to Bingemans for generously supporting Grand River Kids and ensuring Care. Never. Stops. for the young patients of Grand River Hospital!
