SAVA Club's Legacy and Support

On a warm Sunday in June, I was able to visit the SAVA Club for a special celebration for an incredible gift from the Board of Directors.  The SAVA Club is shorthand for the Slovenian Cultural Association which started in 1962.
Joining me were Dr. Glick and Sara Kaune, Clinical Manager.  The Sava Club's gift of $10,000 is dedicated to cancer treatment for our patients in the Grand River Cancer Centre.  The gift is in recognition that their members, families, friends and acquaintances have been the beneficiaries of the Cancer Centre's kind and compassionate care.  They also provided an equivalent gift to our partners at St. Mary's Hospital Foundation. What an incredible legacy.
Gifts from organizations like the Sava Club illustrate the key connections between every one of our communities and our health care. Every gift like this adds to the impact of the care, right here.
Though the SAVA Club has now wrapped up their operations in Kitchener, they shared with us their anniversary book and incredible 50 year legacy.  If you'd like to learn more about the incredible country of Slovenia, I particularly enjoyed this piece.
All the best,
PMR
