Enhancing the Hospital Experience for Our Children and Grandchildren
No one wants to have to spend time at the hospital, but thanks to the generous residents of Chartwell Westmount Retirement Residence in Kitchener, the hospital experience in now a little more enjoyable for the kids in our community who do.
Recently, the residents at this local Chartwell residence came together to hold a DVD donation drive for the Grand River Kids inpatient pediatric unit and outpatient pediatric clinics. They donated numerous DVDs and portable DVD players, so children and their families can watch movies and TV shows while spending time at the hospital.
Being at the hospital can sometimes feel stressful and scary for children, their siblings, and their parents alike, even if it’s just for an appointment or a follow-up visit. So, having enjoyable entertainment available is a meaningful and welcome distraction that can help families pass the time and create fun memories together.
Thank you to residents of Chartwell Westmount Retirement Residence for this generous gift-in-kind that enhances the hospital experience for the children and grandchildren in our community when they need care the most.
