The Mental Health Care & Compassion Fund supports patients receiving mental health care and helps them overcome financial barriers during treatment. It can be used to help patients afford therapy and other services that are not covered by their health benefits and care-related expenses, such as childcare during appointments.

As a patient make trips to and from the hospital, costs like transportation and parking can also add up over time, so every little bit of financial assistance helps. Most importantly, the fund allows for a personalized, holistic approach to care that addresses each individual as a whole, including their physical, mental, and emotional well-being is integral to providing the highest level of care.

For those who experience a loss of income or increased expenses during treatment, the Mental Health Care & Compassion Fund can help them regain their health and independence, all while making their experience just a little bit easier.

You will receive a tax receipt for the full amount in an email following your donation. 

COMPLETING PAYMENT

Once you have selected your donation amount and clicked donate it will take you to a shopping cart experience. From there you can review your total and then click Complete Payment at the bottom of the screen where you will be taken to a secured payment information page.

 

TAX RECEIPTS

Tax receipts are automatically sent once you have completed the payment information and checked out on the site. If you do not see an email come through with your tax receipt please check your junk or spam email folders. Email subject line is Grand River Hospital Foundation Donation Receipt if you are searching for it.

When donating any information entered in the Billing Address fields on the payment screen will be used to generate an automatic tax receipt. If company name is added here the tax receipt will be issued to the company.

If you donation is in honour of a friend or loved one you can email a digital e-card directly upon making a donation.

E-cards are available for donations in memory and in celebration, and each e-card allows you to customize the message being sent. In order to send the e-card you would need to know the email address of the recepient.

On the completed payment screen you will see the available e-card options or you can click on this link and send a card and message directly.

The Foundation will only notify individuals on request. You can use the cart note functionality to provide a message and full contact details.
