This garden at the Withdrawal Management Centre is an outdoor sanctuary for patients, families, caregivers and staff alike. It provides a calm, quiet setting to hold group sessions and for families to spend time with their loved ones when they come to visit; staff are also encouraged to enjoy the garden during breaks to clear their heads.
Resulting from the incredible fundraising efforts of his family and friends, the garden was planted in memory of Andy Bruce, who had a personal connection to and passion for helping others at Grand River's Withdrawal Management Centre; and on the last weekend in May 2022, friends, families and members of the community came together to be a part of planting this very special garden. Andy’s family hopes that the garden will bring people together and promote healing, not just for patients but for their families and loved ones too.

In June 2022, we granted over $15,000 to the hospital for the Withdrawal Management Garden.
