Creative Ways You Can Support Local Care
This spring, the owner and an employee of K.W. Towing hand delivered hundreds of dollars in loonies and toonies to Foundation House in support of breast cancer care at Grand River Hospital. Their generous donation was collected one service call at a time — one of their tow trucks features pink lettering in support breast cancer care, and for every service call it makes, one dollar is donated to the Hospital. This is just one of the creative ways our community members choose to give back in support of care for our communities.
Another dedicated supporter, Mini Mall Storage, supports the Hospital by donating the use of storage lockers for Grand River Hospital Foundation. Their generosity enables us to collect more gifts-in-kind like toys, toiletries, and hygiene products and store them in a safe, secure location; it also provides a convenient place to store and access items like event supplies that may not be needed every day but are important to the work we do to raise money for the Hospital. These storage lockers also help us make better use of the space within the Hospital, which has a positive impact on patients and our hospital teams — instead of using old office spaces at the Hospital for storage, these spaces can continue to be used as offices for hospital staff, which frees up additional space in other areas of the Hospital for patient care.
No matter how you choose to support the Hospital, we are here to help you give back in a way that is meaningful to you. We’ve set up our website to feature collections of resources to empower our community. From fundraising ideas and our community events toolkit, to details about how to donate items for patients and staff through our gift-in-kind program, there are a number of tools to help you get started. Our team at Grand River Hospital Foundation is also always here to offer more support, and we would love to connect with you personally.
