Wishes for good health, happiness and wellness are a hallmark of the holidays; we all want the people we love to thrive in the new year ahead, and Cadillac Fairview is giving local youth the tools to make that happen.

For the past five years, the team at CF Fairview Park has been a dedicated supporter of the Propel program at Grand River Hospital, a mental health program that helps children and youth build resilience through engagement in community programs. To date, they’ve donated more than $76,000 to youth mental health initiatives at the hospital, and this holiday season they will be raising money for Grand River once again with their Visits with Santa experience.

Ongoing, compassionate support is the foundation of the Continuum of Care at Grand River Hospital. Health care professionals from across disciplines come together at the Freeport Campus to provide specialized treatment and care for patients living with or recovering from chronic and complex health conditions.

A person-centred approach is an integral part of the Continuum of Care, and in dementia care, this type of comprehensive approach is particularly valuable. Getting to know each patient and learning about their lives facilitates meaningful connection that allows care providers to personalize care and incorporate activities that are significant to the individual. It’s something Dr. Koke and his team on the neurobehavioural unit strive to do for everyone they care for.

On November 16th and 17th the high school students at Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate and Vocational School (KCI) raised an incredible $1,717 for the neonatal intensive care unit, commonly known as the NICU, at Grand River Hospital with their production, Limelight 2022! Their generosity will help Grand River Hospital staff provide babies in the NICU and their families with the best possible care and patient experience.

On Monday, December 12th from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., join us at the special, walk-only night at Bingeman’s Gift of Lights in support of Grand River Kids! 50% of all proceeds will be donated to Grand River Hospital Foundation.

Earlier this month, we celebrated the 7th Annual Run/Walk for Grand River Regional Cancer Centre. This year, Rich Peers and his team raised an incredible $12,560, bringing their cumulative grand total to $60,150 for local cancer care!

“I can’t think of a better place to fundraise for, and I know we all have a connection [to the cancer centre] and a commitment to see this hospital do well,” Rich said of his team and why they come together each fall to fundraise with this annual event.

The May Court Club of Kitchener-Waterloo is celebrating the holidays with its 31st Annual Christmas Dreams Fundraising Raffle at Conestoga Mall. This year, this signature fundraiser will support KidsAbility, Make-A-Wish, Grand River Hospital Postpartum Wellness and May Court Club Projects.
