The Black Health Professional Collective in collaboration with the Grand River Hospital Foundation has developed a new Lotus Pin which celebrates Black liberation and Black excellence.
The Black Health Professional Collective is committed to being part of the driving force for positive change within the organization by helping build a bridge to the Black community in our region and develop stronger relationships with its patient population, creating a stronger support system and sense of community for staff, and raising awareness around important health issues and concerns the black community faces.
The colors used in the pin are found on the national flags of many African nations and used as a symbol for many Pan-African organizations.
Help support the Black community as this new pin is debuted this year on Juneteenth, a significant date to acknowledge for the Black community and help to share the history of this holiday with those interested in learning more.
All funds raised from the sale of this pin will support further diversity, equity and inclusion efforts at the hospital.
